Most of what worked wasn't something I added. It was something I stopped.

I stopped deciding what to eat every day. The meals repeat now, and the repetition isn't boredom, it's the whole point. One less decision, made once, so it never has to be made tired or hungry again.

I stopped chasing the hard version of everything. The heroic workout, the perfect week. I traded it for the boring one I could actually repeat for years. Consistency beat intensity so completely it wasn't close.

I stopped drinking. I stopped negotiating with the morning walk. I stopped treating rest like it was optional and effort like it was the whole story.

None of it felt like discipline. It felt like taking things off the table so the important parts could run on their own. Most people think getting in shape means adding. For me it was mostly removing, until what was left was simple enough to keep forever.
